 WING GEAR ALTERNATE EXTENSION SYSTEM UPLOCK RELEASE MECHANISM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
_______________________________________________________________________________
 1.  General_______
 A.  This subject has one task. The task is a functional test of the wing gear uplock release mechanism for either gear.

 2.  Wing Gear Alternate Extension System Uplock Release Mechanism Test__________________________________________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  This test makes sure that the uplock release mechanism drives the wing gear uplock hook to the unlock position and drives cables LGDR-3A and -3B (LGDR-4A and -4B RW) to unlock the left wing gear doors.
 CAUTION: THE ALTERNATE EXTENSION SWITCH MUST BE LEFT IN THE "ON"
_______ POSITION FOR A MINIMUM OF 90 SECONDS. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL CAUSE MALFUNCTIONS DURING LANDING GEAR RETRACTION OR LANDING GEAR DOOR CLOSURE.
 (a)  
The unlock switch alternate extend circuitry is also tested for proper function in this procedure.

 (2)  
The test for the left and right wing gear are the same but for the differences in circuit breakers and location of components.

 (3)  
If components of the alternate extension system, other than the uplock release mechanism, rotary actuator, unlock switch, and cables LGDR-3A and -3B (LGDR-4A and -4B right-hand) have been replaced or adjusted do not perform this test. Perform the test specified in the Alternate Extension System - Adjustment/Test (AMM 32-36-00/501).

 (4)  
Each wing gear alternate extension system includes an electric actuator that works in conjunction with an uplock release mechanism. The uplock release mechanism drives a cam which unlocks the wing gear uplock hook and releases the gear. Additionally, the uplock release mechanism drives a cable system which unlocks the wing gear doors.

 (5)  
Each wing gear uplock release mechanism has a door unlock switch (S1339 LW, S1340 RW) mounted on a bracket on the mechanism.

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS IN ALL LANDING
_______ GEAR. AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).
 S 495-034
 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  
Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Nose Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).

Make sure that the landing gear control handle in the the landing gear control panel is in the DN position.

Make sure that all landing gear alternate extension switches on the P2-3 landing gear control panel are in the OFF position.
