Hydraulic fuses

Hydraulic fuses on the alternate antiskid module are the same as the hydraulic fuses on the normal antiskid module and operate the same. If a fuse sets the brakes on two wheels will not operate because each antiskid valve in the alternate system operates two brakes rather than one.
6. Antiskid-Shuttle-Valve Assemblies (Fig. 5)

A. Four antiskid-shuttle-valve assemblies are used on this airplane, one for each main landing gear. The antiskid-shuttle-valve assemblies for the wing gear are intalled on the under side of the wing trailing edge above the wing gear trunion. The antiskid-shuttle-vavle assembies for the body gear are installed on a bracket on the aft bulkhead of the body gear wheel well above the body gear trunion.
B. The antiskid-shuttle-valve assembly changes the pressure source for the brakes from the normal to the alternate system and back again as a function of brake system pressure on the input ports of the valve.
C. Each antiskid-shuttle-valve assembly contains four shuttle valves and four filters, one valve and one filter for each brake on the landing gear truck. Any shuttle valve or filter can be removed and replaced without removing the antiskid-shuttle-valve assembly from the airplane.
D. Each shuttle valve contains an alternate port, a normal port, a brake port and a slide. During normal operation, pressure on the normal port pushes the slide to connect the normal port to the brake port. If pressure is removed from the normal brake system, pressure from the alternate system is applied to the alternate port of the shuttle valve. This pushes the slide in the valve to connect the alternate port to the brake port. In this way either the normal or the alternate port is always connected to the brake port.
