(i) Connect the brake half of the hydraulic brake disconnect to to the hose half of the hydraulic brake disconnect.
NOTE:____ Application of a light coat of X8401-2 BATCO grease to the underside of the Hose Half mounting flange will help to prevent Galvanic corrosion (SL-0099).
1) Do the steps that follow: a) Put the barrel of the disconnect fitting (hose half) over the threaded surface of the brake disconnect fitting (brake half) until the threads are engaged. b) Turn the barrel clockwise until the locking pin on the brake disconnect (brake half) engages the slot on the barrel of the brake disconnect (hose half).
NOTE:____ It will be harder to turn the barrel when the barrel touches the upper surface of the locking pin. When you continue to turn the barrel and it goes past the locking pin, spring force will push the barrel down and cause the slot to engage the locking pin.
(2) S 864-012Pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1, 2 and 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(3) S 684-013Bleed fluid from each brake where a hydraulic brake disconnect was replaced (AMM 32-41-00/201).
(4) S 794-014After 5 minutes, look for leaks at the hydraulic connections of each hydraulic brake disconnect that was replaced.
(5) S 714-015Push on the brake pedals and look for brake piston movement on each brake where a hydraulic brake disconnect was replaced.
(6) S 864-016Set the parking brake.
(7) S 864-024Remove electrical power, if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(8) S 864-025Remove hydraulic power, if it is not necessary (AMM 29-11-00/201).

HYDRAULIC PRESSURE SURGE ACCUMULATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The removal of a hydraulic pressure surge accumulator.
(2)
The installation of a hydraulic pressure surge accumulator.
B.
There are three hydraulic pressure surge accumulators on the airplane. The surge accumulator for the right wing gear brakes is adjacent to the rear spar of the right wing. It is found inboard of the right wing gear trunion. The surge accumulator for the left wing gear brakes is adjacent to the rear spar of the left wing. It is found inboard of the left wing gear trunion. The surge accumulator for both sets of body gear brakes is on the inboard bulkhead of the right body gear wheel well.
C.
You can use this procedure to remove or install all of the hydraulic pressure surge accumulators.
