(8) Look for damage at the accumulator clamps.
NOTE: Damage will usually occur in the area around the clamp leg.
____
(a) Replace a clamp if it has cracks or is broken.
S 424-013
(9)
Do these steps to install the hydraulic brake accumulator:
(a)
Put the accumulator in its position in the clamps.
(b)
Align the tubing with the unions on the accumulator.
(c)
Tighten the clamps.
(d)
Remove the cap from the lower union.
(e)
Connect the tubing to the lower end of the accumulator.
(f)

accumulator.
S 614-053
(10)
Do these steps to charge the hydraulic brake accumulator:
(a)
Attach a source of nitrogen or dry air to the stem of the gas charging valve.
WARNING:_______DO NOT LOOSEN THE BODY OF THE GAS CHARGING VALVE. THE PRESSURE IN THE ACCUMULATOR CAN QUICKLY PUSH THE GAS CHARGING VALVE OFF THE MANIFOLD. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(b)
Turn the outer nut of the gas charging valve one turn
counterclockwise.
(c)
Look at the charging instructions marker adjacent to the accumulator.
(d)
With a value for the ambient temperature of the airplane, find the correct charge pressure for the accumulator.
(e)
Pressurize the accumulator to the correct pressure shown on the charging instructions marker.
NOTE: Use the direct reading pressure gage for indication of
____
the accumulator charge pressure.
(f)
Turn the outer nut of the gas charging valve clockwise until it is tight.
