(c)
Push the captain's brake pedals to the stops and hold them.
(d)
Make sure the pressure gage on each brake shows the same pressure as the HYD BRAKE PRESS gage on the P1-4 panel (|100 psi).
(e)
With the brake pedals held at the stops, look to make sure there are no leaks at each brake assembly and along the brake lines. No leaks are permitted.
(f)
Monitor the indicator on each brake assembly. Make sure that each brake has operated to compress the heat stack.
(g)
Release the brake pedals.
(h)
With the brake pedals released, look to make sure there are no leaks at each brake assembly and along the brake lines. No leaks are permitted.
(i)
Monitor the indicator on each brake assembly. Make sure that each brake is released.
(j)
Make sure the pressure gage on each brake shows less than 75 psig.
(k)
Push the the brake pedals for the First Officer's to the stops and hold them in that position.
(l)
Make sure the pressure at each brake is within 100 psig of system pressure.
(m)
Monitor the indicator on each brake assembly. Make sure that each brake has compressed the heat stack.
(n)
Release the brake pedals.
(o)
Monitor the indicator on each brake assembly. Make sure that each brake has released.
(p)
Make sure the pressure gage at each brake shows less than 75 psig.
(q)
Remove the pressure from hydraulic system No. 4
(AMM 29-11-00/201).
S 735-034
(4) Do the steps that follow for a test of pedal force and distance (left side):
NOTE: Measure pedal force by the load applied at the end of the
____ pedal (8.25 inches from the pivot and perpendicular to the pedal).
NOTE: The steps that follow measure the force and distance at the
____ Captain's pedals, but the First Officer's pedals can be used.
(a) Make sure the pressure is removed from hydraulic systems No. 1, 2, and 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
NOTE: The pressure indication for each system on EICAS must
____
show less than 160 psi.

If you use the brake pedal measuring equipment J32001-39, the brake pedal forces are based on a distance of 5.58 inches from the point of force application to the brake pedal pivot. The force readings for the J32001-39 tool should be corrected by dividing by a factor of 1.478.
S 415-185

If you use the protractor and spring scale to measure pedal forces and positions, install them as follows:
(a)
Install the brake pedal protractor tool on the Captain's left brake pedal.
(b)
Connect a spring scale to the end of the brake pedal.
(c)
Push the Captain's left pedal forward to an angle of
10.5 - 11.5 degrees. Make sure the force on the pedal is 21 - 30 lbs.
(d)
Slowly release the pedal until the angle is 0.5 - 1.5 degrees. Make sure that the force on the pedal is 6 - 9 lbs.
(e)
Release the pedal. Make sure the pedal goes to neutral |1 degree.
(f)
Pressurize hydraulic system No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(g)
Make sure the pressure indication for hydraulic system No. 4 on EICAS shows 2900 - 3150 psi.
(h)
Make sure the HYD BRAKE PRESS indicator on the P1-4 panel shows 2900 - 3150 psig.
(i)
Push the Captain's left pedal forward to an angle of 4.5 - 5.5 degrees. 1) Make sure the pressure gage on each brake on the left main
landing gear trucks show 500 - 700 psi. 2) Make sure the force on the pedal is 30 - 36 pounds.
