A. Safety Precautions
(1) Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) Put the safety barriers in position.
(4) Put the access platform below the applicable wing at the wing-tip fence, zone 530 (630).

R A. Removal of the Wing-tip Fence
R (1) Remove the bolts (8) and the covers (7).
R (2) Remove the locking plates (6) and (9).
R R (3) Hold the wing-tip fence (3) (the weight is approximately 11 kg (24 lb)) and remove the bolts (5) and the washers (4).
R R (4) Remove the wing-tip fence laterally from the wing-tip (10) and put it on a trestle/table that is sufficiently padded.
R (5) If necessary, collect the barrel nuts (1) and (2).
