 (1) Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

 Fully extend the slats (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-004).

 Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER is installed on the flap/slat control lever.

 Put the adjustable access platform in position below the applicable wing leading edge, zones 521 (621) and 522 (622).

 A. Preparation for Inspection
 WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
 (1) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) to clean these areas:

the fuselage/wing-fillet fairing

 -
the NACA ram-air inlet

 -
the leading edge surfaces

 -
the leading edge access panels

 -
the joint between the leading edge structure and the wing tip


 -above the nacelles
 -the leading edge surfaces behind the slats.

 B. Inspection
 (1) Examine the fuselage/wing-fillet fairing to make sure that:
 -
there is no distortion of the skins

 -
there is no damage

 -
there are no loose rivets

 -
there is no corrosion.
