Make sure the adjustable access platform is in position below the applicable access panel, zone 540(640).
(2)
Make sure the forward and aft fixed fairings of the flap track 3 have been removed (Ref. TASK 57-55-11-000-001):
-for the left wing, panels 540FB and 540GB
-for the right wing, panels 640FB and 640BG.

R A. Preparation of a Component for Installation
R (1) We recommend that the sealing ring (2) or (3) is replaced each time
R the panel is installed. If a new seal is not used, you must make sure
R that the sealing ring (2) or (3) is:
R - assembled correctly
R - bonded on the access panel
R - not twisted or damaged.
R (2) Examine the knitted gasket (4) or (5), for damage. If necessary,
R remove and discard it.
R (3) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING
R AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean:
R - the groove in the access panel (1) for the sealing ring (2) or (3)
R if a new seal is being installed
R - the clamp ring (6)
R - the interfaces of the access panel (1) and the wing skin.
R (4) Examine for damage the interfaces of:
R - the access panel (1)
R - the clamp ring (6)
R - the wing skin
R - the bolt holes in the clamp ring (6).

R WARNING : OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THIS/THESE_______

R USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, RUBBER GLOVES AND GOGGLES.
R CAUTION : YOU MUST FOLLOW THESE STEPS OF THE PROCEDURE ACCURATELY. THIS_______
R WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
R (1) If a new sealing ring (2) or (3) is to be installed, apply a thin
R layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-007) to the groove in the access
R panel (1).
R (2) While the sealant is wet, put the applicable sealing ring (2) or (3)
R (flat edge down) into the groove in the access panel (1):
R - for the panels 540AB, 540BB, 540CB, (640AB, 640BB, 640CB) use
R sealing ring (2)
R - for the panels 540DB, 540EB, 540FB, 540GB, (640DB, 640EB, 640FB,
R 640GB) use sealing ring (3).
R NOTE : Let the sealant dry for a minimum of 15 minutes before you____
R install the panel.
R (3) Make sure the applicable knitted gasket (4) or (5) is sufficiently
R soaked with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-013):
R - for the panels 540AB, 540BB, 540CB, (640AB, 640BB, 640CB) use the
R knitted gasket (4)
R - for the panels 540DB, 540EB, 540FB, 540GB, (640DB, 640EB, 640FB,
R 640GB) use the knitted gasket (5).
