A. Preparation for Installation WARNING : OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THE SPECIAL

MATERIAL.
THIS MATERIAL IS DANGEROUS.
(1)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Use a non-metallic scraper and a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean:
-
the interface of the aircraft structure
-
the mating surfaces of the access panel (2).
(3)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-005) to the interface of the aircraft structure.
(4)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-013A) to the mating surfaces of the access panel (2).
(5)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.

B. Installation of the Access Panel 522AT(622AT)
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE ACCESS PANEL SCREWS ARE INSTALLED IN THEIR
_______ CORRECT POSITIONS. INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE SCREWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SLATS DURING SLAT MOVEMENT.
(1)
Hold the access panel (2) in position.
(2)
Loosely install the bolts in their correct positions as follows:
-
the fifteen bolts (1)
-
the five bolts (5)
-
the four bolts (3)
-
the bolt (4)
-
the bolt (6).
(3)
TORQUE tighten the bolts gradually to between 0.45 and 0.5 m.daN
(39.82 and 44.24 lbf.in).
(4)
Make sure that the access panel (2) is correctly aligned with the adjacent panels.

Remove the access platform(s).
(2)
Remove the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER from the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Retract the slats (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-005).

(1)
Remove the safety barriers.
(2)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(3)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
