B. Seal Installation

NOTE : The procedure that follows can be done at the subsequent servicing

interval.
NOTE : Seal only the clearance between the trailing edge of the
____
pressure-relief panels and the wing skin.
(1)
Fully degrease the area to be filled with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(2)
Apply masking tape around the edges of the area to be filled.
(3)
Use a spatula or extrusion gun to insert SEALANTS (Material No. 09-002B) or SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) into the applicable prepared area.
(4)
Use a non-metallic scraper to remove unwanted sealant before it cures.
(5)
Let the sealant cure (refer to the manufacturers instructions).

Make sure the surface of the seal is flush with the surfaces of the applicable pressure-relief panel (9) and/or (30) and the wing skin.
(7)
Remove the masking tape from the area around the seal.
(8)
Remove the applicable bolts (10) and/or (28).
(9)
Remove the applicable pressure-relief panel (9) and/or (30). Use a suction cup if necessary.
(10)
Examine the seal to make sure that:
-
there is a full strip of sealant along the trailing edge of the panel opening
-
there are no bubbles or spaces in the sealant
-no parts of the seal are loose.
(11)
If the sealant does not make a full strip, or there are bubbles or spaces, or the seal is loose:
(a)
Use a non-metallic scraper to remove the seal.
(b)
Do again steps (1) thru (11).
(12)
Apply talcum powder MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-004) to the mating surface of the seal.
(13)
Install the applicable pressure-relief panel (9) and/or (30) with the applicable bolts (10) and/or (28).
