A. Safety Precautions
(1)
Put the safety barriers in position.
(2)
Install the safety devices on the landing gears (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-481-001) and the landing gear doors (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(3)
On the panel 400VU:
-Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position.
-Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(4)
Put a warning notice to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.

B. Lift the Aircraft
(1) Lift the aircraft on jacks (Ref. TASK 07-11-00-581-001).

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems are de-pressurized (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2)
Disconnect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. TASK 29-23-00-860-001).

D. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1)
If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2)
If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.

Remove the applicable MLG actuator attachment bearing assembly (Ref. TASK 57-26-13-000-002) .

A. Removal of the Bearing Seals
(1) Remove the bearing-halves (1) from the bearing ball (2) as follows:
(a) Hold the applicable bearing-half (1) tightly. NOTE : Separation of the bearing-halves (1) from the bearing ball
____ (2) is not easy.
(b)
Carefully remove the bearing-halves (1) from the bearing ball (2).
(c)
Make sure that the distance between the bearing-halves (1) is constant during separation.
