R CAUTION : YOU MUST REMOVE AND INSTALL THE BOLTS IN THE SPECIFIED_______
R SEQUENCE. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ACCESS PANEL.
R (2) Apply a thin layer of SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the
R bolts (7). Apply to the shank, the threads and below the head of each
R bolt (7).
R (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and
R equipment before you install the access panel (1).
R (4) Remove the identification label from the access panel (1).
R (5) Apply a light coating of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012) to the
R mating face of the sealing ring on the access panel (1).
R (6) Put the access panel (1) in position on the wing. Make sure that the
R access panel and its sealing ring do not move after they are put in
R position.
R (7) Install the applicable knitted gasket (4) or (5) and the clamp ring
R (6).
R NOTE : Make sure that grease does not enter the bolt holes in the____
R access panels, as a hydraulic effect can occur.
R (8) Loosely install the bolts (7).
R CAUTION : YOU MUST TIGHTEN AND TORQUE THE BOLTS IN THE CORRECT_______
R SEQUENCE TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
R (9) Lightly tighten each bolt (7) (to make sure that the panel cannot
R tilt and damage the sealing ring when the bolts are fully torque
R tightened).
R (10) TORQUE tighten the bolts (7) in the sequence A thru AF to between 60
R and 70 lbf.in (0.67 and 0.79 m.daN).
R NOTE : The access panels (1) do not all have the same quantity of____
R bolts (7), but the sequence shown is the same.
R (11) TORQUE tighten the bolts (7) in the sequence A thru AF again to
R between 60 and 70 lbf.in (0.67 and 0.79 m.daN).
R R R R R (12) Make sure that the maximum in-to-wind or out-of-wind dimension (between the clamp ring (6) and the wing skin) is between: - +1.0 mm (+0.0393 in.) and -1.0 mm (-0.0393 in.) along the long axis - +0.5 mm (+0.0196 in.) and -0.5 mm (-0.0196 in.) along the short axis.
R R (13) Make sure that the dimension X is between 1.0 mm (0.0393 in.) and 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.).
R R R R (14) Do a bonding test (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-002). Make sure that the electrical resistance is less than 10 milliohms: - between the clamp ring (6) and the wing skin - between the clamp ring (6) and the access panel.

A. Preparation of a Component for Installation
(1) We recommend that the sealing ring (2) or (3) is replaced each time the panel is installed. If a new seal is not used, you must make sure that the sealing ring (2) or (3) is: - assembled correctly - bonded on the access panel - not twisted or damaged.
(2) Examine the knitted gasket (4) or (5), for damage. If necessary, remove and discard it.
(3) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean: - the groove in the access panel assembly (1) for the sealing ring (2) or (3) if a new seal is being installed - the access panel outer (6) - the interfaces of the access panel assembly (1) and the wing skin.
(4) Examine for damage the interfaces of: - the access panel assembly (1) - the access panel outer (6) - the wing skin - the bolt holes in the access panel outer (6).
