A. Safety Precautions
(1)
Put the safety barriers in position.
(2)
Install the safety devices on the landing gears (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-481-001) and the landing gear doors (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(3)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the landing gear or the landing gear doors.

B. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the applicable main landing gear bay, zone 571 or 671.
(2)
Remove the applicable MLG actuating cylinder (Ref. TASK 32-31-46-000-001).
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Bearing Assembly
(1)
Use a plastic spatula to remove the sealant from around the special nut (5), the bearing assembly (1) and the special washer (2).
(2)
Disengage the tab washer (4) from the special nut (5).
(3)
Use the SPANNER R/I BEARING (98D57004081000) to remove the special nut (5).
(4)
Remove and discard the tab washer (4).
(5)
Remove the bearing assembly (1) and the special washer (2) from the MLG actuator attachment bracket.
