(1)
You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank, (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(2)
Put the safety barriers in position.
(3)
Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(4)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

(1)
Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2)
Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

(1)
Put the adjustable access platform below the applicable access panel, zone 540(640).
(2)
For panels 540NB(640NB) or 540PB(640PB):
-remove the forward and aft fixed fairings of the No. 4 flap track (Ref. TASK 57-55-11-000-001).
(3)
For panel 540NB(640NB), remove the bolts (13) and the flap-track fairing support-bracket (12).

(1)
Put the adjustable access platform below the applicable access panel, zone 540(640).
(2)
For panels 540NB(640NB) or 540PB(640PB):
-remove the forward and aft fixed fairings of the No. 4 flap track (Ref. TASK 57-55-11-000-004).
