Hold the fuel-surge access panel (22) and remove the nuts (1), the hinge pins (4) and collect the washers (2).

Remove the fuel-surge access panel (22) from the brackets (3).
(4)
If the fuel-surge access panel (22) is to be replaced, then:
(a)
Remove the nuts (15) and the bolts (12) and collect the washers (14), the sleeves (9), the washers (11), the bobbins (10) and the springs (13).
(b)
Remove the nuts (20) and the bolts (21), then remove the hinges
(8) from the fuel-surge access panel (22).
(5)
If the fuel-surge access panel (22) is not to be replaced, examine

Obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2)
Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(3)
Make sure the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) is correctly installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(4)
Make sure the warning notices are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
