a thrust spigot that absorbs the thrust and the side loads from the engine.


 The bracket assembly, made of titanium alloy, is of a double fail-safe design. The bracket is attached to:
 -
the forward face of the front spar

 -
the top skin of the wing (the skin extends forward of the front spar)

 -
the reinforcing and the bottom skin of the wing (the reinforcing and the skin extend forward of the front spar).


 The thrust fitting is made of titanium and has a steel pin of a fail-safe design. Bolts attach the fitting to the bottom face of the bracket assembly through the reinforcing plate and the bottom skin.

 The rear attachment fitting for the pylon is attached by bolts to the inside face of the bottom skin, forward of the rear spar, and to the ribs RIB7 and RIB8.
 The rear attachment fitting is machined from a titanium alloy forging. This has a single lug which passes through a keyhole slot in the bottom skin to make the rear pick-up point.
 C. Attachment Fittings for the Pylon Fairings
 A bracket made from a titanium alloy forging attaches the rear of the pylon fairing to the bottom skin of the wing box. The bracket is bolted to the aft face of the false rear spar, and passes through a slot in the bottom skin.

 D. Attachment Fittings for the MLG
 Fittings for the attachment of the MLG are installed on the aft face of the rear spar. These include:
 -
the gear support rib (the Gear Rib 5)

 -
the pintle fitting

 -
the side stay attachment bracket

 -
the actuator attachment bracket.


 (1) Gear Support Rib
 The aft attachment point for the MLG is the gear support rib. The rib is machined from an aluminum alloy forging and is attached to:
 -
the aft face of the rear spar at RIB5

 -
the extended top and bottom wing skins

 -
the false rear spar


 -
a top diagonal-stiffener

 -
a top edge beam.

 Pintle Fitting

 The forward attachment point for the MLG is the pintle fitting. The pintle fitting is made from titanium alloy and is attached to the aft face of the rear spar at RIB4.

 Side-Stay Attachment Bracket

 The side-stay attachment bracket is made from aluminum alloy. It is attached to the aft face of the rear spar at RIB2.

 Actuator Attachment Bracket


 The actuator attachment bracket is made from titanium alloy. It is attached to the aft face of the rear spar, adjacent to the side-stay attachment bracket.

 E. Flap Track Attachments
 There are four flap tracks for each outer wing:
 -
flap tracks 1 and 2 hold the inboard flap

 -
flap tracks 3 and 4 hold the outboard flap.


 Flap track 1 is attached at the fuselage side by 3 bearing brackets.
 The forward attachment brackets for flap tracks 2 thru 4 have catching and bearing brackets which are machined from titanium alloy forgings. These brackets are installed:
 -
for track 2, at the rear spar at RIB6

 -
for track 3, forward of the rear spar at RIB12

 -
for track 4, forward of the rear spar at RIB19
