Remove the protection caps.

If it is necessary to install a new heat exchanger (1), do the steps that follow:
(a)
Lubricate the threads of the (short) bolts (17) with engine oil.
(b)
Attach the higher (29) and lower (21) mounting brackets to the heat exchanger (1) with the (short) bolts (17). 1) Tighten the bolts (17) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7
newton-meters).

If it is necessary to install a new valve (18), do the steps that
follow:
(a)
Lubricate the packings (33, 35) with the petrolatum.
(b)
Install the packings (33, 35) to the adapters (34, 36) for the servo fuel drain, return, and supply tube.
(c)
Lubricate the threads of the adapters (34, 36) with engine oil.
(d)
Install the adapters (34, 36) to the valve (18).
(e)
Tighten the adapter (34) to 65-75 pound-inches (7.3-8.5 newton-meters).
(f)
Tighten the adapters (36) to 110-120 pound-inches (12.4-13.6 newton-meters).
(g)
Install the drain tube (40) with the steps that follow:
1) ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 79-49;
Do the steps that follow:
a) Lubricate the threads of the smaller adapter (34) with
the antigalling compound.
b) Attach the drain tube (40) to the adapter (34) and to the hole in the tube flange on the air/oil heat exchanger (1).
