(b) If you find oil leakage around the lubrication and scavenge oil pump and main gearbox interface, remove the lubrication and scavenge oil pump (Ref 79-21-04/401) and visually examine the mounting surfaces for cracks. 1) If you find cracks in the lubrication and scavenge oil
pump, replace the lubrication and scavenge oil pump (Ref 79-21-04/401). 2) If you find cracks in the main gearbox, replace the engine (Ref 71-00-02/401).
3) If there are no cracks in the lubrication and scavenge oil pump or the main gearbox, install the lubrication and scavenge oil pump with the new packings (Ref 79-21-04/401).
(c) If you find oil leakage around the mounting flange of the oil supply tubes or scavenge tubes, do the steps that follow: 1) Disconnect the applicable scavenge tube. 2) Visually examine the mounting surfaces of the scavenge tube
and lubrication and scavenge oil pump for cracks. 3) If you find cracks in the scavenge tube, replace the scavenge tube.
4) If you find cracks in the lubrication and scavenge oil pump, replace the lubrication and scavenge oil pump (Ref 79-21-04/401).
5) If there are no cracks in the lubrication and scavenge oil pump or the scavenge tube, connect the scavenge tube to the lubrication and scavenge oil pump with the new packing.
(d) If you find oil leakage from the housing of the lubrication and scavenge oil pump, do the steps that follow: 1) Visually examine the hole or crack to make sure it is the
source of the oil leak. 2) If the hole or crack is the source of the oil leak, replace the lubrication and scavenge oil pump (Ref 79-21-04/401).

(b) An area that is not more than the conditions that follow is permitted: 1) The depth of an area with corrosion is the same as but not
more than 0.050 inch (0.127 mm). 2) The area is less than 1.00 square inch (645 square mm). 3) The area is a minimum distance of 2.00 inches (50.80 mm)
from a different area with corrosion.
(c) If the corrosion is more than the limits, replace the lubrication and scavenge oil pump (Ref 79-21-04/401).
