 (2)  Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).

Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground
 Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the left core cowl panel (AMM 71-11-06/201).

Open the left thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the Oil Quantity Transmitter


 S 034-004-N00
 (1)  
Disconnect the electrical connector DT675 (5) from the oil quantity
 transmitter (7).


 (a)  
Install the protection caps.

 (2)  
Disconnect the cooling air tube (2) from the union (3) on the heat
 shield (4).

 (3)  
Remove the bolts (12 and 13), nuts (10 and 14), and washers (11)
 which attach the heat shield (4).


 (4)  
Remove the heat shield (4).

 (5)  
Remove the bolts (12), nuts (10), and washers (11) which attach the
 support bracket (1) for the heat shield and support bracket (8) for
 the electrical connector.


 (6)  
Remove the support brackets (1 and 8).

ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 79-74; Remove the bolts (9), nuts (10), and washers (11) which attach the oil quantity transmitter (7) to the oil tank.

ENGINES POST-PW-SB 79-74; Remove the bolts (16) and nuts (17) which attach the oil quantity transmitter (7) and bracket (15) to the oil tank.

 WARNING: BEFORE YOU OPEN THE OIL TANK CAP, PERMIT A MINIMUM OF FIVE
_______ MINUTES AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN TO LET THE PRESSURE IN THE OIL TANK BLEED OFF. A FAST FLOW OF HOT OIL CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURY TO YOU.
 DO NOT KEEP THE OIL ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT CLEAN THE OIL OFF, THE OIL CAN CAUSE INJURY.
 (9)  Lift up and pull out the oil quantity transmitter (7) from the oil tank.
 NOTE: Let the remaining oil drain from the oil quantity transmitter

 into a container.

 (10) Remove the packing (6) from the probe of the oil quantity transmitter (7).
 (a)  Discard the packing (6).

 (11) Install the protection caps on the cooling air tube (2), oil tank boss, and electrical connection on the oil quantity transmitter (7).
