Tighten the tube nut for the cooling air tube (2).

 2) 7F10 EIU C

Fill the engine oil tank, if it is necessary (AMM 12-13-03/301).

OIL PRESSURE INDICATING SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  The engine oil pressure indicating system includes an oil pressure transmitter and uses the auxiliary EICAS for display. The oil pressure transmitter measures the pressure after the fuel/oil cooler and before the engine oil goes to the engine bearings. The pressure signal is sent to the EFIS/EICAS interface units (EIU's) which shows the oil pressure on the auxiliary EICAS display in the flight compartment.
 2.  Oil Pressure Transmitter (Fig. 1)

 A.  The oil pressure transmitter is installed on the left side of the engine just aft of the intermediate case at the 10 o'clock position.
 B.  The oil pressure transmitter has a variable reluctance type. It includes a pressure sensor and an electrical transformer with a movable core. A diaphragm in the pressure sensor is mechanically coupled to the transformer core. The diaphragm senses the pressure changes.
 3.  Oil Pressure Indication (Fig. 2)

 A.  The oil pressure indication is shown on the auxiliary EICAS display. For more data on the oil pressure indication, refer to Integrated Display System, 31-61-00/001.
 B.  The display shows oil pressure in psi on a digital readout.
 4.  Operation (Fig. 3)

 A.  Functional Description
 (1)  
The system is operational when 28 volts ac power is applied to the oil pressure transmitter.

 (2)  
The oil pressure transmitter senses oil pressure by a diaphragm in the transmitter pressure sensor. The diaphram position is relative to the oil pressure versus breather air pressure from the main bearing compartment.

 (3)  
Signals proportional to the pressure are generated by the oil pressure transmitter through the reluctance change between the windings of the transformer.
