(b)  
Connect the drain tube (7) to the elbow with locknut.
 (Fig. 404).


 (c)  
Tighten the drain tube (7) connection.

 (d)  
Tighten the locknut (6) on the elbow (7) to 70 - 80
 pound-inches (7.9 - 9.0 newton-meters) (Fig. 405).


 (e)  
Connect the drain tube (8) (Fig. 404).
 1) ENGINES WITH THE PREFERRED CONFIGURATION;


 Do the steps that follow: 2) Install the tube nut to the adapter (22) (Fig. 405). 3) While you hold the adapter (22), tighten the tube nut.

 (f)  
ENGINES WITH THE OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION; Do the steps that follow: 1) Connect the drain tube to the elbow (7) with locknut (6). 2) Tighten the drain tube connection. 3) Tighten the locknut (6) on the elbow (7) to 70 - 80

 pound-inches (7.9 - 9.0 newton-meters).

 (g)  
Connect drain tube (10) to elbows (Fig. 404).
 1) Tighten the tube nuts to elbows (30, 31) to 200 - 225

 

 pound-inches (22.6 - 24.9 newton-meters) (Fig. 405). 2) Loosen the tube nuts. 3) Tighten the tube nuts to elbows (30, 31) to 200 - 225
 pound-inches (22.6 - 24.9 newton-meters).

Install the main bearing strainer housing assembly (AMM 79-21-17/401).

Install the brackets (3, 5) for the EEC electrical harness at the forward end of the fuel/oil cooler with the steps that follow (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Lubricate the threads of the bolts (16) with engine oil.

 (b)  
Install the brackets (3, 5) to the fuel/oil cooler with the
 bolts (16).
 1) Tighten the bolts (16) to 85-95 pound-inches


 (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).

 (c)  
Lubricate the threads of the nut (10) with engine oil.

 (d)  
Attach the bracket (4) to the support with the clamp (11) and nut (10). 1) Tighten the nut to 36-40 pound-inches

 (4.1-4.6 newton-meters).

 (e)  
Lubricate the threads of the bolts (14) with engine oil.

 (f)  
Attach the support (12) to the bracket (5) with the bolts (14), washers (15), and nuts (13). 1) Tighten the nuts (13).

 Install the EEC wire harness to the forward end of the fuel/oil cooler with the steps that follow (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Attach the clamps (2) to the lower support bracket (8) with the bolts (1) (View E).

Attach the clamp (2) to the bracket (6) with the bolt (7) (View D).

 (c)  
Attach the clamp (2) to the bracket (5) with the nut (4) (View C).

 (d)  
Attach the clamps (2) to the upper support bracket (3) with the bolts (1) (View B).

 Connect the EEC electrical connectors (9) to the bypass valve solenoid for the fuel/oil cooler (1) (Fig. 401).

6E16 ENG 2 PERF SOL PWR B

 (e)  
6D15 ENG 3 PERF SOL PWR A

 (f)
