cap (10). 3) Install the oil tank cap (10) into the filler neck sump and
valve (9). 4) Turn the oil tank cap (10) clockwise to close. 5) Turn the handle on the oil tank cap (10) 45 degrees
clockwise to engage the locking mechanism.
(d) Install the heat shield (2) for the oil tank with the steps
that follow:
1) Put the heat shield (2) on the oil tank (15).
a) Make sure to align the higher seam on the heat shield (2) with the seam on the oil tank.
2) Make sure the bolt holes in the mounting bracket of the heat shield (2) align with the bolt holes in the mounting flange of the oil tank (15).
3) Lubricate the threads of the screw, which attaches the heat shield clamp, with engine oil.
4) Attach the heat shield clamp (14) on the heat shield (2) with the screw. a) Tighten the screw to 15-18 pound-inches (1.7-2.0
newton-meters).

Install the bracket (41) to the oil tank.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE TUBES IN THE OIL TANK CORRECTLY ENGAGE THE
_______ TUBES FROM THE MAIN GEARBOX. IF THE TUBES ARE INCORRECTLY ENGAGED, DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
(d)
Make sure the oil tank is correctly installed with the steps that follow: 1) Look in the hole at the top of the oil tank where the oil
quantity transmitter attaches. 2) With a mirror, do a check to make sure the tubes in the oil tank are engaged with the tubes from the main gearbox. 3) Make sure the breather tube is correctly engaged with its mating tube.
(e)
Tighten the bolts (1) to 180-200 pound-inches (20.3-22.6 newton-meters).
