 (1)
Lubricate the packings (13) with engine oil.

 (2)
Install the packings (13) to the solenoid (3).

Put the solenoid (3) on the aft end of the bypass valve.

 (a) Make sure the electrical connectors point down.

 (4)
Lubricate the threads of the bolts (12) with engine oil.

(5)  S 434-014-N00Install the bolts (12) and washers (11). (a) Tighten the bolts (12) to 60-80 pound-inches (6.8-9.0 N.m.). (b) Install the lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule to the bolts (12).
 (6)  S 434-026-N00Remove the protection caps from the electrical connectors (1, 2).

 CAUTION: USE THE CORRECT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE, AND TOOLS, FOR THE HARNESS
_______ CONNECTOR INSTALLATION (REF 70-24-05/201). IF YOU USE THE INCORRECT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE, OR TOOLS, A DAMAGED OR LOOSE CONNECTOR CAN OCCUR. A LOOSE CONNECTOR PERMITS VIBRATION, WHICH CAUSES THE CONTACTS TO WEAR AND DECREASES THE LIGHTNING PROTECTION.
 (7)  
Connect the electrical connectors (1, 2) to the forward and rearward electrical connectors on the solenoid (3) (Ref 70-24-05/201).

Lubricate the packing (7) with engine oil.

Install the packing (7) to the oil return tube (5) for the bypass valve.
