The EIU's receive the EEC oil temperature signal and show the engine oil temperature on the auxiliary EICAS display.

The EEC compares the signals from the thermocouple probes for the EEC oil temperature and the No. 3 bearing oil temperature, and finds a differential oil temperature, which is sent to the EIU's for display on the EPCS maintenance page.

OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General
_______
A. This procedure gives the instructions to do an operational test of the indicating system for the oil temperature.
B. The operational test is done with the engines in operation and is used to make sure the indicating system operates correctly. The operational test is used to make sure the system operates correctly after the replacement of the thermocouple probes for the EEC oil temperature and the No. 3 bearing.

With the engines in operation at the same power, make sure the oil temperature indication on the auxiliary EICAS display is approximately the same for each engine.
