Move the EEC electrical harness forward with the steps that follow (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the bolts (1) which attach the wire harness clamps (2) to the upper support bracket (3) (View B).
(b)
Remove the nut (4) which attaches the wire harness clamp (2) to the bracket (5) (View C).
(c)
Remove the bolt (7) which attaches the wire harness clamp (2) to the bracket (6) (View D).
(d)
Remove the bolts (1) which attach the wire harness clamps (2) to the lower support bracket (8) (View E).
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE WIRE HARNESS AT THE OTHER CLAMP LOCATIONS
_______ OR ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. IF YOU PULL ON OTHER CLAMPS OR ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE WIRE HARNESS.
(e) Move the wire harness forward.

Remove the brackets (3 and 5) with the steps that follow (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the bolts (14) and nuts (13) which attach
the support (12) to the bracket (5) (View F).
(b)
Remove the bracket (5).
(c)
Install the bolts (14) and nuts (13).
1) Tighten the bolts (14) with your hand.
(d)
Remove the nut (10) which attaches the clamp (11) to the bracket (4).
(e)
Remove the bolts (16) which attach the brackets (3 and 5) to the forward end of the fuel/oil cooler.
(f)
Remove the brackets (3, 5).
(g)
Install the bolts (16).
1) Tighten the bolts (16) with your hand.

Install the container to catch the remaining oil and fuel.

Remove main bearing strainer housing (AMM 79-21-17/401).

Disconnect the oil tubes (1, 2, and 3) from the bypass valve (25) for the fuel/oil cooler with the steps that follow (Fig. 402):
(a)
Disconnect the oil return tube (1) from the bypass valve (25). 1) Discard the retainer (6) and the packing (7).
(b)
Disconnect the oil inlet tube (2) from the bypass valve (25). 1) Discard the retainer (8) and the packing (9).
(c)
Disconnect the oil inlet tube (3) for the IDG from the bypass valve (25). 1) Discard the retainer (10) and the packing (11).
(d)
Install the protection caps on all tubes and ports.

(13) Disconnect the fuel tubes (1, 4, 7, and 8) with the steps that follow (Fig. 403):
(a)
Disconnect the fuel outlet tube (4) from the
fuel/oil cooler (1).
1) Discard the retainer (2) and the packing (3).
(b)
Disconnect the fuel inlet tubes (7, 8) from the
fuel/oil cooler (1).
1) Discard the retainers (5) and the packings (6).
(c)
Disconnect the fuel inlet return tube (1) from the fuel/oil cooler (1).
(d)
Install the protection caps on all lines and ports.
