(14) Disconnect the oil outlet tube (6) for the IDG with the steps that follow (Fig. 404):
(a)
Remove the screw (4), washer (2), nut (5), and clamp (3) which attach the oil outlet tube (6) for the IDG to the bracket.
(b)
Disconnect the oil outlet tube (6) from the
fuel/oil cooler (1).
1) Discard the packing (1).

Remove the drain tubes (7, 8, 10) with the steps that follow (Fig. 404):
(a)
Disconnect the drain tubes (7, 10) from the elbows.
(b)
Disconnect drain tube (8) from the elbow or adapter, as applicable.
(c)
Install the protection caps.

Remove the fuel/oil cooler (1) and the bypass valve (25) from the engine with the steps that follow (Fig. 405):
(a)
Remove the bolts (44) and washers (45) which attach the aft flange of the fuel/oil cooler to the engine bracket and reposition bracket (43) aft.
(b)
Remove the bolts (36) which attach the forward mount hinge (42) to the engine bracket.
(c)
Remove the fuel/oil cooler (1) and the bypass valve (25) from the engine.
NOTE: Lift the fuel/oil cooler off the tube connections and
____ move it out and up. Then remove the forward end of the fuel/oil cooler first.

If it is necessary, remove the fuel/oil cooler (1) and the bypass valve (25) with the steps that follow (Fig. 405):
(a)
Remove the bolts (10) and washers (9) which attach the bypass valve (25) to the fuel/oil cooler (1).
(b)
Remove the bypass valve (25) from the fuel/oil cooler (1). 1) Discard the gasket (8).
(c)
Install the protection caps.

If it is necessary to replace the fuel/oil cooler (1) and you do not have the detail parts, do the steps that follow (Fig. 405):
(a)
Remove the forward mount hinge (42) from the
forward mount pin (40).

(b)
Remove the cotter pin (38), nut (39), and washer (37) which attach the forward mount pin (40) and retainer (41) to the fuel/oil cooler (1).
(c)
Remove the forward mount pin (40) and the retainer (41).
(d)
Remove the adapters (3, 12, 34). 1) Discard the packings (2, 11, 35). 2) Install the protection caps.
(e)
Loosen the locknut (6).
(f)
Remove the drain tube elbows (7, 30) and adapters (22). 1) Discard the packings (4, 17) and the retainer (5). 2) Install the protection caps.

(19) If it is necessary to replace the bypass valve (25) and you do not have the detail parts, do the steps that follow (Fig. 405):
(a)
Remove the bolts (47) and washers (46) which attach the bypass valve solenoid (48) to the bypass valve (25).
(b)
Remove the bypass valve solenoid.
1) Discard the packings (49).
(c)
Remove the oil inlet adapter (20).
(d)
Remove the drain tube adapter (22), tee (22A), and elbow (31).
(e)
Remove the IDG oil inlet adapter (23).
(f)
Discard the packings from the adapters.
(g)
Install the protection caps.
