To replace the scraper ring, do these steps:
(a)
Lower the gland nut.
(b)
Cut the damaged scraper ring from the inner cylinder.
NOTE: Do not scratch the surface of the inner cylinder.

(c)
Install the split scraper ring.
(d)
Tighten the gland nut 2100-2400 inch-pound torque (AMM 32-11-02/801).
(e)
Do this task: "Wing Landing Gear Shock Strut Servicing" (AMM 12-15-03/301).

Put the Airplane back to its Usual Condition.

A. This procedure contains a task to replace the fluid in a shock strut for the wing landing gear.
B. The task to fill and pressurize the shock strut is in AMM 12-15-03/301.

CAUTION: REMOVE THE PRESSURE FIRST FROM THE WING LANDING GEAR OR REMOVE
_______ IT EQUALLY FROM ALL OF THE MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE AIRPLANE CAN FALL TO THE SIDE IF YOU REMOVE THE PRESSURE INCORRECTLY.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU DEFLATE THE STRUT MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA BELOW THE
_______ WINGS IS CLEAR. WHEN YOU DEFLATE THE STRUT THE WING CAN LOWER MANY FEET, WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Release the pressures from all the main gear shock struts.
(a)
Remove the valve caps from the air valves.
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE THE VALVE ASSEMBLY UNTIL YOU FULLY
