Put the shock strut in the vertical position before you move the landing gear.
(l)
Install the oleo locks on the lower part of the shock strut.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE LANDING GEAR DOES NOT HIT THE BOTTOM OF THE
_______ AIRPLANE. THE AREA BELOW THE AIRPLANE IS CONFINED AND THE LANDING GEAR CAN EASILY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE EQUIPMENT.
(m) Lift the forward part of the wheel truck with an axle jack.
NOTE: The axle jack will permit you to turn and move the wheel
____
truck during the removal.
(n) Move the landing gear away from the airplane.
NOTE: The landing gear must move forward to move it away
____
from the airplane.

Remove the outer race of the aft trunnion bearing (Fig. 402).
(a)
Remove the bearing retainer bolts (3, 9).
(b)
Remove the bearing retainer (10).
(c)
Lightly hit the outer bearing race (2) out of the housing in the aft direction.
CAUTION: DO NOT CHANGE ONE HALF OF THE OUTER BEARING RACE WITH A
_______ DIFFERENT HALF. EACH HALF IS PART OF A SPECIFIED SET. THE INSTALLATION OF AN INCORRECT HALF CAN CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE AFT TRUNNION BEARING WHEN THE LANDING GEAR OPERATES.
(d) Identify each half of the outer bearing race to show that each half is a part of a set.

3. Wing Landing Gear Installation (Fig 401)

A. General
(1)
You must have the conditions that follow to install the wing landing gear.
(a)
The trunnion bearings must be in the structure of the airplane.
(b)
The trunnion fork must be in the forward bearing.
(c)
The aft end of the trunnion fork must be in its highest position.
(2)
The installation of the aft trunnion bearing is in this task.
