 WING GEAR UPPER JURY STRUT - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  You must examine the alignment of the jury strut assembly after you install the upper or lower jury struts. If the alignment is incorrect, you must adjust the jury strut assembly. When you replace the assembly of the side strut component, an inspection of the alignment is not necessary.
 B.  The jury strut apex is correctly aligned when it is off-center. You can see this in Figure 501, View A-A.

 WARNING: YOU MUST REFER TO 32-00-30/201 FOR THE LOCK INSTALLATION
_______ PROCEDURE. FAST MOVEMENT OF THE DOORS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT IF THE LOCKS ARE NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
 (2)  
Install the door locks for the wing and body landing gear (AMM 32-00-30/201).

Examine the off-center dimension A with a straightedge and a scale.

 NOTE: If dimension A is not in tolerance, you must adjust the
____ strut. The tolerance is shown in Figure 501, View A-A.

Release the pressure from hydraulic system No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Install the bungee clamp.

 NOTE: Tighten the bungee clamp to make sure the spring tension will

 decrease when you remove the apex bolt.

Lift the airplane with jacks to decrease the load on the landing gear and the pressure on the apex bolt (AMM 07-11-01/201).

Hold the upper jury strut and remove the apex bolt.
