_______ THE TOP END FROM THE SIDE STRUT. THE BUNGEE CAN EJECT FROM THE SIDE STRUT IF YOU DISCONNECT THE BUNGEE WITHOUT THE BUNGEE TOOL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Disconnect the top end of the bungee from the upper side strut (AMM 32-32-16/401).
(6)
Lift the airplane with jacks (AMM 07-11-01/201).

_______ INBOARD SIDE OF THE WING LANDING GEAR. THE WING LANDING GEAR WILL MOVE INBOARD WHEN YOU REMOVE THE GROUND LOCKPIN. THE SUDDEN MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(7) Remove the ground lockpin from the wing landing gear.
NOTE: The landing gear will release if you push up on the

center of the jury strut.

(8) Hold the top end of the lower side strut to the shock strut with a rope.

Disconnect all of the hydraulic lines from the hydraulic swivel:
(a)
Disconnect the lower hoses from the swivel.
(b)
Disconnect the upstream hydraulic lines from the swivel.
(c)
Remove the upstream hydraulic lines.
(d)
Put a cap on all of the disconnected lines.
(e)
Put a plug in all of the open fittings.

(1)
Remove the lockbolt from the inboard end of the spindle.
(2)
Loosen the spindle nut.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE SLING FOR THE SIDE STRUT IS SAFE BEFORE YOU
_______ REMOVE THE SPINDLE NUT. THE SIDE STRUT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 75 POUNDS. IF THE SIDE STRUT FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4)
Remove the side strut bolt.
(a)
Remove the lockbolt, the special nut, and the tang washer from the end of the side strut bolt.
(b)
Hold the swivel bracket with your hand.
(c)
Pull the side strut bolt from the connection.
NOTE: The swivel bracket will come loose when you pull the
____ bolt from the side strut.

Remove the side strut spindle from the support structure.
(a)
Adjust the sling to permit sufficient clearance for the removal of the spindle.
(b)
Remove the spindle nut with the spline washer.
(c)
Install the thread protector on the spindle.
(d)
Pull the spindle from the support structure.
