 (1) Remove the brake rod bolts for the inner cylinder yoke (Fig. 805).
 NOTE: Lift or lower the end of the truck with the axle jacks
____ if it is necessary. This will release the load on bolts.

Remove the brake rods away from the inner cylinder (13) and attach the rods to the truck.

Remove the truck pivot lockbolt, the nut, and the washer.

 (a)  
Move the axle jacks until the pivot bolt is free.

 (b)  
Remove the pivot bolt, the nut and the washer.

 (4)  
Lift the airplane or lower the truck into a pit.

 (a)  
Do that until the inner cylinder yoke is clear of the truck beam (AMM 07-11-01/201).

 (5)  Install the replacement seals.
 CAUTION: USE ONLY THE TYPE OF HYDRAULIC FLUID SHOWN ON THE SHOCK
_______ STRUT NAMEPLATE. DIFFERENT TYPES OF FLUID WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO SEALS.
 CAUTION: USE THE CORRECT SEAL FOR THE HYDRAULIC FLUID THAT IS
_______ SHOWN ON THE SHOCK STRUT NAMEPLATE. THE INCORRECT SEAL WILL WEAR QUICKLY, AND CAUSE FLUID CONTAMINATION.
 (a)  
Soak three sets of the seals in applicable hydraulic fluid.

 (b)  
Rub the outer edges of the inner cylinder yoke (Fig. 801) with the applicable hydraulic fluid.

 CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY EXTEND THE SEALS AROUND THE YOKE. SHARP EDGES ON THE STRUCTURE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SEALS.

 (c)  
Move three sets of seals up to the yoke.


 1)  Each set have one dynamic (smaller diameter) seal and one static (larger diameter) seal.

 (6)  
Install the truck pivot bolt.

 (a)  
Lower the airplane or lift the truck.

 (b)  
Do that until the inner cylinder yoke and the pivot holes for the truck beam align. 1) Use the axle jacks to help to align the holes.

 (c)  
Lightly lubricate the pivot holes and the shank of the pivot bolt (Fig. 805).

 (d)  
Put the thread protector on the pivot bolt and install the bolt.


 NOTE: Make sure the head of the pivot bolt is on the inboard
____
 side of the truck beam.

 (e)  
Remove the thread protector and apply grease to the washer, the threads of the pivot bolt, and the nut.

 (f)  
Install the washer and the nut on the pivot bolt.

 (g)  
Use the spanner wrench for the pivot pin nut to tighten the nut 760 to 1200 pound-inches.

 (h)  
Add the lockbolt, the washer, and tighten the self-locking nut.

 (7)  
Install the brake rods.

 (a)  
Apply grease to the washer surfaces, the shank, and the threads of the brake rod bolts.

 (b)  
Install the brake rods with the bolt heads that point out from the beam (Fig. 804).

 (c)  
Tighten the nuts 144 to 720 pound-inches and install the lockbolt.

 (8)  
Remove the retention tool for the shock strut of the landing gear if the tool is there.

 (a)  
Remove the nylon sling from the inner cylinder yoke if the sling is there.

 (9)  
If the bracket is not installed, do these steps:

 (a)  
Install the target bracket of the tilt sensor for the wing gear truck (AMM 32-61-22/201).


 NOTE: Make sure you install the radius filler below the sensor
____ bracket. If you install the radius filler between the shock strut structure and the bracket, it can cause an incorrect sensor gap.
 (b)  Do the task: Adjust the truck tilt sensor for the wing gear (AMM 32-61-22/201).

 (10)
 Remove the lower bearing assembly.

 (a)  
Put a cloth around the inner cylinder (13) for the shock strut below the gland nut (9) ( Fig. 802).
