 E. Prepare for the Removal
 S 864-018
 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO PREPARE
_______ THE SAFETY-SENSITIVE SYSTEMS FOR THE AIR MODE. FAILURE TO DO THE STEPS CORRECTLY CAN CAUSE THE AUTOMATIC OPERATION OF AIRPLANE SYSTEMS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  Do this task: "Prepare Safety-Sensitive Systems for the Air Mode" (Ref 32-09-02/201).
 NOTE:____It is not necessary to do this task: "Put the air/ground relay system in the air mode".

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7F22 LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT PRI
 2) 7F23 LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT ALTN
 3) 7F25 PSEU SECT 1
 4) 7F26 PSEU SECT 2

 (b)  
P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6F13 ENG 1 T/R CONT
 2) 6F12 ENG 1 T/R IND
 3) 6E13 ENG 2 T/R CONT
 4) 6E12 ENG 2 T/R IND
 5) 6D13 ENG 3 T/R CONT
 6) 6D12 ENG 3 T/R IND
 7) 6C13 ENG 4 T/R CONT
 8) 6C12 ENG 4 T/R IND

 F.
Remove the PSEU

 (1)  
Loosen the two clamps at the bottom of the PSEU.

 (2)  
Pull the PSEU out of the shelf.

Install the PSEU

Put the PSEU on the E1-3 shelf

 (2)  
Tighten the two clamps at the bottom of the PSEU.

Do this task: Ground Test - PSEU (Ref 32-09-03/501).

 PROXIMITY SWITCH ELECTRONICS UNIT (PSEU) - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has two tasks:
 (1)  
The first task uses the CMCS to do a ground test for the PSEU.

 (2)  
The second task does an inductance and resistance test of the sensors and wiring to determine if the sensors operate correctly.

 2.  Ground Test - Proximity Switch Electronics Unit (PSEU)______________________________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  
This test looks for sensor input failures to the PSEU. The ground test also does a check of the electronics in the PSEU.

 (a)  
The PSEU ground test does a check of the sensor and associated wiring (for open/short), regardless of the sensor near/far state. The PSEU will also do a target test for reasonable conditions.
