WING LANDING GEAR LOWER SIDE STRUT - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains a task to measure the fit of the lower side strut assemblies on the wing landing gear. These assemblies include:
(1)
The apex bolt and pin assembly.
(2)
The downlock actuator and the pin assembly on the lower side strut.
(3)
The lower spindle bolt and pin assembly.
B.
To do this procedure , you must remove the lower side strut.

Do this task: "Lower Side Strut Removal on the Wing Landing Gear" (Ref 32-11-06/401).

(2)
Do the steps that follow after you remove the lower side strut.
(a)
Disassemble the apex bolt and pin assembly.
(b)
Disassemble the downlock actuator and pin assembly on the lower side strut (Ref 32-11-06/401).
(c)
Disassemble the lower spindle bolt and pin assembly (Ref 32-11-07/201).

(3) Examine the components of the lower side strut for corrosion and damage.

(4) Examine the fit of the apex pin, the lower spindle pin and the downlock actuator and shock strut connection assemblies.
(a) (b) Measure the parts at the locations shown in figure 601.Compare the measured dimensions to the wear limits in figure 601.
(c) If the part is not in tolerance, replace the part if you cannot repair it.

(5) Do this task: "Wing Landing Gear Lower Side Installation" (Ref 32-11-06/401).

(6) Install the spindle assembly on the lower side strut (Ref 32-11-07/201).
