 CAUTION: DO NOT MOVE THE AIRPLANE WHILE THE SHOCK STRUTS ARE NOT
_______ PRESSURIZED. THE SHOCK STRUTS MUST HAVE PRESSURE TO PERMIT MOVEMENT OF THE AIRPLANE. IF THEY DO NOT HAVE PRESSURE, DAMAGE TO THE INNER AND OUTER CYLINDERS WILL OCCUR.
 (2)  Release the pressure and drain the fluid from the shock strut (AMM 32-11-02/301).
 NOTE: It is not necessary to lift the airplane with jacks.

Disconnect the hydraulic tube from the shutoff valve.

Remove the shutoff valve from the flow fuse.

 (5)  
Remove the flow fuse from the shock strut.


 NOTE: Put a container under the fuse to catch fluid that can fall.

Procedure


 S 222-111
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT MOVE OR DAMAGE THE WING GEAR TRUCK
_______ SENSORS OR TARGET BRACKET. IF THE TARGET BRACKET OR SENSORS ARE MOVED, THEN THE AIRPLANE SYSTEMS MAY NOT RECOGNIZE AN IN-AIR CONDITION.
 (1)  If the sensor or target bracket is moved or damaged, then do the task to measure the wing landing gear truck sensor clearance (AMM 32-61-22/201).

 CAUTION: DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR OR OTHER PRESSURIZED FLUIDS TO CLEAN
_______ THE FLOW FUSE. IF YOU CLEAN THE FLOW FUSE WITH HIGH PRESSURE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INNER COMPONENTS OF THE FUSE. THIS CAN CAUSE THE FLOW FUSE TO OPERATE INCORRECTLY.
 (2)  
Clean the flow fuse:

 (a)  
Flush the flow fuse with acetone.

 (b)  
Make the flow fuse dry with a clean cloth to remove all signs of the acetone.

 (3)  
Soak the O-ring with hydraulic fluid.

 (4)  Install the O-ring on the flow fuse.

 (5)  Apply a light layer of petrolatum on the O-ring.

 (6)  Make the extension of the pin equal on each side of port A (View A).
 NOTE:____ The difference in the extensions must be less than 0.005
 inch (0.127 mm).

Install the flow fuse:

 (a)  
Put the flow fuse in the port on the shock strut.

 (b)  
Tighten the flow fuse to 8-13 pound-feet (10.8-17.6 newton-meters).
