_______ LIMIT TO ALIGN THE SLOTS. TOO MUCH TORQUE DOES NOT MAKE A BETTER SEAL AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO PARTS.
 (j)  
Use the wrench adapter for the lower gland nut to install the gland nut (9).

 (k)  
Tighten the gland nut (9) 2100 to 2400 pound-inches.

 (l)  
Align the nearest lock tab slots.

 (m)  
Measure the dimension B (section A-A, Fig. 802).

 (n)  
Do a check that the dimension B is equal to (the dimension A minus 8.460 inches | 0.030 inches). 1) If the dimension B is less than the limit, disassemble the


 shock strut.

 2)  Do a check for the twisted seals or the clearance between the parts.
 (o)  Install the gland nut lockplate (5) after all parts are assembled and tightened correctly.
 NOTE: If tilt sensor was moved to help install gland nut, do
____ Adjust the Truck Tilt Sensor for the Wing Gear procedure (AMM 32-61-22/201).
 (p)  Rub the open part of the inner cylinder (13) with hydraulic fluid specified on the shock strut nameplate.

 Remove the axle jacks (AMM 07-11-03/201).

 Bleed the hydraulic fluid from the shock struts at the same time.

 (a)  
Keep the extension of the shock struts approximately the same until the inner cylinders (13) are fully compressed.


 NOTE: The shock struts are fully compressed when the X
____ dimension for the body landing gear is 6.80 inches, and the A dimension for the nose landing gear is 0.85 inches.

 Do the servicing for all of the shock struts.  (AMM 12-15-03/301 through AMM 12-15-05/301).

Put the airplane back to its usual condition.

Supply the system No. 4 with hydraulic power (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Open the bleed valve to bleed the actuator.

 (a)  
Permit approximately 1 pint of fluid to flow from the valve outlet.

 (b)  
Permit more fluid to flow from the valve outlet if the bubbles stay in the system.

 (c)  
Tighten the bleed valve and the lockwire.

 (3)  S 938-093Put a tag label on the shock strut. (a) The label shows "ONE SET SPARE SEALS USED" if there is one set of spare seals in the shock strut.
 (4)  S 938-094Put a tab label on the shock strut. (a) The label shows "TWO SETS OF SPARE SEALS USED" if there are no spare seals in the shock strut.

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO REMOVE THE
_______ DOOR LOCKS FROM THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task: "Removal of the Door Locks from the Wing Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).

Do this task: "Removal of the Door Locks from the Body Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).
