Lubricate the spindle shank, the nut and the washer with grease.

Install the spindle thread protector.

CAUTION: DO NOT PERMIT THE END OF THE SPINDLE TO PUT PRESSURE ON THE
_______ OUTER CYLINDER WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE SPINDLE. THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SPINDLE OR TO THE SHOCK STRUT.

Install the spindle in the attachment fitting for the shock strut.

Remove the thread protector.

Install the washer and the nut.
(a)
Tighten the nut 96 to 144 pound-inches to install the spindle.
NOTE: Loosen the nut to be at zero torque and then tighten
____ the nut to 12 - 24 pound-inches again. Loosen the nut to the nearest castellation and install the cotter pin.

(6) Lubricate the spindle bolt and the nut with grease.

(7) Align the upper jury strut with the hole in the spindle.
(a) Install the bolt (use the thread protector), the conduit
support bracket, and the castellated nut.
(b) Tighten the nut 96 to 144 pound-inches.
NOTE:____ Loosen the nut to be at zero torque and tighten the nut
to 12 - 24 pound-inches again. Loosen the nut to the
nearest castellation and install the cotter pin.

Remove the bungee restraining tool from the jury strut downlock.
