G. Prepare for the procedure

(1) Park the airplane in the level location after move it straight for a short distance to prevent the gear windup.

(2) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

Open the actuator bleed valve to remove the hydraulic pressure from the system No.1.

Stop the truck positioning actuator on the strut.

WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE THE VALVE BODY UNLESS DEFLATE THE SHOCK STRUT
_______ FULLY. THE AIR PRESSURE CAN BLOW THE VALVE OUT AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(6) Remove the air valve caps to deflate the shock struts and loosen the outer nut no more than two turns.
NOTE: The hydraulic fluid will have bubbles immediately
____ while you decrease the pressure to the ambient. Deflate the shock strut slowly to prevent the leak of fluid through the air valve.

Drain the shock strut for the left wing landing gear
(AMM 32-11-02/301).
(a)
Put a tray below the flow fuse (used as drain plug).
(b)
Make sure the shock strut has no pressure in it, then remove the flow fuse and drain the fluid.

CAUTION: USE ONLY THE TYPE OF HYDRAULIC FLUID SHOWN ON THE SHOCK STRUT
_______ NAMEPLATE FOR THE LANDING GEAR. DIFFERENT TYPES OF FLUID WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO SEALS.
(8) Connect the hydraulic source that can supply fluid at 2000 psi to the nose and body landing gears at the same time.
