 NOTE:____ The trunnion bolt (12) must go between the flanges of the stop fitting (5).
 (c) (d) (e)  Remove the thread protector from the trunnion bolt.Install the special nut (37) with the tang washer (4). 1) Tighten the nut to 600-900 pound-inches (68-102 nm) with the crowfoot wrench. 2) Loosen the nut to align the nearest castellation on the nut with the lockbolt hole in the trunnion bolt. 3) Install the lockbolt (1), the washer (2), and the self-locking nut (3).Install the antirotation bolt (6) through the stop fitting (5) and through the trunnion bolt assembly.
 NOTE:____ The hole in the lubrication insert (11) must align with the hole in the trunnion bolt (12).
 1)  Tighten the nut (8) 5-10 pound-inches (1.13-1.79 nm) more than the torque that is necessary to turn the nut.
 (6)  S 424-029Connect the bottom end of the drag brace (9) to the shock strut. (a) Lubricate the shank and the threads of the drag brace pin (23) with grease. (b) Align the spherical bearing (15) with the shock strut lugs. (c) Install the drag brace pin with the lubrication insert (20). (d) Tighten the special nut (13) with your hand.
 (7)  S 434-049Install the uplock roller assembly. (a) Lubricate the shank and the threads of the uplock roller bolt (22) with grease. (b) Lubricate the surfaces of the washer (27) with grease. (c) Apply a small quantity of petrolatum to the ends of the needle bearings (25).

 (d)  
Apply a small quantity of petrolatum to the inner diameter of the uplock roller (24).

 (e)  
Install the two sets of needle bearings (25) with the
 sleeve (26) into the uplock roller (24).

 

 NOTE: The sleeve must be between the two sets of needle
____
 bearings in the uplock roller.

 (f)  Install the uplock roller bolt (22) to hold the uplock roller assembly between the drag brace pin and the shock strut lug.
 NOTE: The uplock roller assembly includes the needle bearings
____ (25), the sleeve (26), and the uplock roller (24).
 (g)  
Install the nut (28) with the washer (27) on the end of the uplock roller bolt (22). 1) Tighten the nut (28) to 60-120 pound-inches (6.8-13.6 nm)

 more than the torque which is necessary to turn the nut. 2) Loosen the nut to align the nearest castellation on the nut with the cotter pin hole in the bolt (22).

 (h)  
Turn the uplock roller (24) with your hand to make sure it moves freely.

 (i)  
If the uplock roller does not turn, remove the uplock roller bolt (22), the uplock roller (24), and the drag brace pin (23). 1) Remove a small quantity of material from the bushing flange


 in increments.
 2) Install the drag brace pin (23), the uplock roller
 assembly, and the uplock roller bolt (22) again.
 3) Make sure the uplock roller turns freely.
 4) If the uplock roller does not turn freely, remove the
 components again.
 5) Remove material from the bushing flanges again.
 6) Continue this procedure until the uplock roller moves
 freely.
 (j)  Install the cotter pin (29).
 S 434-050
 (8)  Tighten the special nut (13) to 60-120 pound-inches (6.8-13.6 nm) more than the torque that is necessary to turn the nut.
 NOTE: The crowfoot wrench is necessary to tighten the special nut

 (13).

 (a)  
Loosen the special nut (13) to align the nearest castellation with the lockbolt hole in the drag brace pin (23).

 (b)  
Install the lockbolt (14), the washer (17), and the
 self-locking nut (18).

 (9)  Apply the BMS 8-45 putty to the self-locking nut (18) where it engages with the lockbolt (14).
 NOTE: The putty must be on the lockbolt to permit the seal to break
