 (4)  S 434-054Install the lubrication insert (17): (a) Apply a large quantity of grease in the apex bolt (20) at the head of the bolt (19).
 NOTE:____ The longitudinal depth of the grease must be 0.50 to 0.75 inches in the apex bolt (20).
 (b) (c)  Install the lubrication insert (17) with the O-rings (18) into the apex bolt (20). 1) Align the lockbolt holes.Install the lockbolt (21), the washer, and the locknut. 1) Tighten the nut to 10 to 20 pound-inches more than the torque which is necessary to turn the nut.
 (5)  S 094-035Remove the sling and the hoist from the upper side strut.
 (6)  S 434-036Attach the upper end of the downlock bungee (3) to the upper side strut (1) (AMM 32-32-16/401).
 (7)  S 434-056Install the hydraulic hoses and the clamps (8). (a) Attach the hydraulic swivel (2) to the swivel bracket at the top end of the side strut. 1) Install the four bolts. (b) Attach the hose clamps (8) to the upper side strut. (c) Connect the two hydraulic lines to the upstream side of the hydraulic swivel (2).
 (8)  S 864-040Pressurize the hydraulic System 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (9)  
Do a check of the operation of the downlock actuator:

 (a)  
Move the control handle to the DN position and hold for 3 minutes.

 (b)  
Look for movement of the actuator piston rod when you supply hydraulic pressure to the lock port.


 NOTE: Movement of the piston will push the jury strut to the
____ OVERCENTER (locked) position.
 (c)  
Do a check of the hydraulic connections for leaks.

 (d)  
Move the control handle to the UP position and hold for 3 minutes.

 (e)  
Look for movement of the actuator piston rod when you supply hydraulic pressure to the UNLOCK port.


 NOTE: Movement of the piston will push the jury strut against
____
 the ground locks.

 (f)  
Open the bleed valve on the head end of the actuator to bleed the valve.

 (g)  
Close the bleed valve.

 (h)  
Do a check of the hydraulic connections for leaks.

 (i)  
Move the control handle to the DN position.

Put the Airplane in Its Usual Condition.

Lower the airplane to the ground with the jacks (AMM 07-11-01/201).

 (a)  
Remove the jacks from the airplane.

 WING LANDING GEAR UPPER SIDE STRUT - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains a task to examine the fit of the bolt assemblies on the upper side strut of the wing landing gear. These assemblies include the spindle bolt assembly and the apex bolt assembly.
 B.  To do this procedure, you must remove the upper side strut.
