 (a)  Use the BMS 5-63, Class B sealant to put a fillet seal around the outboard strut fire seal assembly door and the aft hinge of the thrust reverser.

 Install the access panels for the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-01/401).

 (20)
 Do the steps that follow to make sure there are no leaks at the connections for the precooler:

 (a)  
Use the ground air to pressurize the pneumatic system
 (AMM 36-05-00/201).


 (b)  
Put the PACK switches to the OFF position.

 (c)  
Put the BLEED switches to the OFF position.

 (d)  
If it is necessary, open the isolation valve.

 (e)  
Do the check for leakage at the precooler connections.

 


 NOTE:____Diffused leakage is permitted. Jet blast leakage must be repaired.

 BLEED AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND PRECOOLER - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General
 A.  This procedure contains these tasks:
 (1)  
The inspection of the engine bleed air precooler for allowable crack location.

 (2)  
A test to find if the level of leakage from the engine bleed air distribution system is within acceptable limits.

 (3)  
A check for leakage from the pneumatic duct sections and valves.


 B.  A precooler with internal crack locations and leakage levels that are within acceptable limits is permitted for continued operation.
 C.  A precooler with external crack locations that are within acceptable limits is permitted for limited operation.

 (1)  Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).
