 WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE FOR THE THRUST REVERSER TO
_______ PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (b)  
Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (c)  
Open the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).


 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU OPEN THE THRUST REVERSERS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
 (d)  Open the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).
 C. Remove the Ducts
 S 034-010
 (1)
Loosen the V-band clamps at each end of the duct section.

 S 034-011

 (2)  
If it is necessary, disconnect the duct support clamps which hold the duct section to the support brackets.

 S 034-016

 (3)  
Remove the parts that follow:

 (a)  
The support clamps (if applicable).

 (b)  
The V-band clamps.

 (c)  
The duct section.

 B.  Install the Duct
 S 164-018
 (1)  Make sure the duct section is clean and there is no damage.
 NOTE: If you install a new duct section, make sure the new
____ section is the correct part for the section you will replace.

 (2)  Put the duct section in the correct position.
 (a)  Loosely hold the duct section with the duct support clamps or if applicable, loosely attach to the support links.
 NOTE: Attach the support links to the airplane structure
____ if the links were disconnected for the duct removal.

 (3)  If you install the APU pneumatic duct, make sure that there is sufficient clearance at the APU bulkhead.
 (a)  If the APU pneumatic duct clearance is not sufficient at the APU bulkhead, do the adjustment procedure for the APU pneumatic duct to get the necessary clearance (AMM 36-19-15/501).
 S 434-020
 (4)  Install the V-band clamps.
 (a)  Put the duct sections in the position to make the clearance between the ducts equal. 1) The usual clearance between the ducts is not more than 0.03
 inches.
 2)  If the clearance between the ducts is more than 0.03 inches, loosen the adjacent duct sections as it is necessary.
 3)  If the clearance between all of the duct sections is more than 0.03 inches, make all of the clearances equal.
 (b)  On clamps that are installed in areas where you can not hit them with a hammer, do the steps that follow: 1) Apply a layer of the dry film lubricant to the inner
 surface of the clamp and to the threads of the T-bolt. 2) Let the lubricant dry for 24 hours before you assemble the ducts.

 (c) (d)  On the remaining V-band clamps, apply a thin layer of the graphite lubricant to the components shown in Fig. 402.Use the procedure that follows to tighten the clamps. 1) Torque the clamps to the value shown in Fig. 402. 2) Use a wood, leather or soft plastic mallet to lightly hit around the clamp. 3) Do the procedure again until the torque stays the same for two consecutive torque-hit cycles.
