Stop the APU if necessary.

Remove the pressure from the pneumatic system (AMM 36-05-00/201).

AIRPLANES WITH ASPIRATED TAT TUBE;
 Do the steps that follow:


 (a)  
Remove the cap from the open end of the aspirated TAT tube.

 (b)  
Remove the cap from the open boss from the pneumatic manifold duct.

 (c)  
Reconnect the aspirated TAT tube to the open boss on the pneumatic duct.

 

 (4)
Close the access doors and panels that were opened for the test.

 (1)  
Get access to the precooler flange that you will repair.

 (2)
Use the flange reforming tool and repair the precooler flange.

 (3)  
If you cannot repair the precooler flange while the precooler is installed, remove the duct or precooler to get access to the damaged flange (AMM 36-19-15/401 or AMM 36-12-25/401).

 (a)  
Repair the precooler flange with the flange reforming tool.

 (b)  
Install the duct or precooler (AMM 36-19-15/401 or AMM 36-12-25/401).

 PRECOOLER CONTROL VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks. The first task removes the precooler control valve. The second task installs the precooler control valve.
 B.  The precooler control valve controls the volume of engine fan air which goes through the bleed air precooler. This fan air is used to decrease the temperature of the bleed air which goes to the main manifold.
 C.  The precooler control valve is found on the top of the engine core. A coupling attaches the control valve to the inlet duct for the fan air. A compressed contact seal connects the control valve to the bleed air precooler.
