PRESSURE REGULATING AND SHUTOFF VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains three tasks. The first task removes the pressure regulating and shutoff valve (PRSOV). The second task installs the PRSOV. The third task performs a post installation test of the PRSOV.
B. The pressure regulating and shutoff valve is electrically actuated and pneumatically controlled by the bleed air regulator. It is used to supply bleed air, at the correct pressure, to the main manifold.
C. The PRSOV is found above each engine core, forward of the bleed air precooler.
D. The valve can be manually operated to the closed or the locked closed position.

(2) S 864-073Put the forward thrust lever in the fully rearward position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(3) S 864-074Put the start lever in the CUTOFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

WARNING: YOU MUST REMOVE THE PRESSURE FROM THE PNEUMATIC DUCTS BEFORE
_______ YOU REMOVE A PNEUMATIC SYSTEM COMPONENT. IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE PRESSURE FROM THE PNEUMATIC DUCTS, HOT HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Remove the pressure from the pneumatic system (AMM 36-05-00/201).

Open the applicable circuit breaker for the bleed air control on the P6 panel and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

Attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag to the applicable BLEED switch.

WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE FOR THE THRUST REVERSER TO
_______ PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU OPEN THE THRUST REVERSERS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(9) Open the thrust reversers (AMM 78-31-00/201).

D. Remove the PRSOV

(1) Do these steps to remove the wire attachments for the PRSOV (Fig. 401):
