(5) S 436-010Connect the -6 end of a TYPE A hose to the Precooler Control Valve supply pressure port.
(6) S 436-011Connect the -4 end of the TYPE A hose to Test Set Fitting No. 4. (See Fig. 602 Sheet 1)
(7) S 716-012Open the Test Set Shutoff Valve.
(8) S 716-013Turn the Primary Regulator knob clockwise until the Primary System Gauge indicates (50 | 5) psig.
(9) S 716-014Set the SYSTEM SELECTOR valve handle to the A position.

Turn Pressure Regulator No. 1 clockwise until Test Set Gauge No. 3 indicates (12.0 | 2.0) psig.

Use a mirror to examine the precooler control valve position indicator.
(a)
If the position indicator is within 30° of the full-CLOSED position, go to step G.(23).
(b)
If the position indicator is NOT within 30° of the full-CLOSED position, continue.

Turn Pressure Regulator No. 1 clockwise until Test Set Gauge No. 3 indicates (10.0) psig.

Examine the 390°F thermostat, WTAI solenoid (If Installed), and associated fittings and lines for leakage.
(a)
If NO leakage is found, replace the precooler control valve (AMM 36-12-35/401), then go to step G.(40).
(b)
If leakage is found, replace and repair the damaged items as necessary, then continue.
