Use the cleaner to clean the mating surfaces of the 5th-stage bleed air check valve and the manifold ducts.

Install the new E-seals between the check valve and manifold ducts.

Put the check valve between the duct flanges with flow direction arrow pointing up (Fig. 401).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE V-BAND CLAMPS ARE INSTALLED WITH THE TORQUE
_______ NUTS ON THE AFT SIDE OF THE DUCT-VALVE JOINTS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE CLAMPS CORRECTLY, INTERFERENCE OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR TO THE FUEL MANIFOLD TUBE ON THE FORWARD SIDE.

(4) Install the couplings.
(a)
Tighten the couplings by hand.
(b)
Make sure the couplings are aligned with the marks you made in the removal procedure.
(c)
Tighten the couplings to 95-110 pound-inches.
E. Put the Airplane Back To Its Usual Condition

_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSERS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

Close the thrust reversers (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Close fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags from the components that follow:
(a)
The start lever.
(b)
The forward thrust lever.

(4)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close the applicable circuit breaker for the bleed air control on the P6 panel.

(5)
Do the activation procedure for the thrust reverser
(AMM 78-31-00/201).
