Use a wrench to put the high-stage valve to the open position.

While you hold the high-stage valve in the open position, put your thumb over the high-stage valve port (View C, Fig. 501) or you can install a cap over the high-stage valve port.

Remove the wrench and let the high-stage valve move to the closed position.
