HIGH STAGE REGULATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task removes the high stage regulator. The second task installs the high stage regulator.
B. The high stage regulator is a pneumatic control. It gives a controlled pressure from a bleed source to the high stage valve.
C. The high stage regulator is found on the right side of the aft fan case at the 2 o'clock position.

C. Prepare to Remove the High Stage Regulator

Make sure the engine does not operate.

Put the forward thrust lever in the fully rearward position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Put the start lever in the CUTOFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(4)
Remove the pressure from the pneumatic system (AMM 36-05-00/201).

Open the BLEED AIR circuit breaker on the P6 Panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

Put a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag on the BLEED switch.

WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE FOR THE THRUST REVERSER TO
_______ PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the right fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).
D. Remove the High Stage Regulator (Fig. 401)

Disconnect the sense lines (3 locations).

Disconnect the union (4) and the O-ring from the right port.
(a) Discard the O-ring.

(3) Disconnect the reducer (5) and the O-ring from the left port.
