 (1) Disconnect the sense line and the reducer from the thermostat.
 (a)  Discard the O-ring.

 (2)  Remove the screws (4 locations) which hold the thermostat to the duct.

 CAUTION:_______THE THERMOSTAT CAN BE DAMAGED IF DROPPED OR MISHANDLED. IF THE THERMOSTAT IS DROPPED, RETURN IT TO THE SHOP OR SUPPLIER FOR CALIBRATION.
 (3)  
Remove the thermostat from the duct.

 (4)  
Put the covers on the opening for the duct to keep out unwanted material.

 (5)  
Put caps on the sense line to keep out unwanted material.

 D. Install the Thermostat
 S 434-011
 (1)  
Install the O-ring and the reducer on the thermostat.

 S 434-013

 (2)  
Remove the cap from the sense line.

 S 434-012

 (3)  
Remove the cover from the opening for the pneumatic duct.

 (4)  
Make sure there is packing on the thermostat.

 CAUTION:_______THE THERMOSTAT CAN BE DAMAGED IF DROPPED OR MISHANDLED. IF THE THERMOSTAT IS DROPPED, RETURN IT TO THE SHOP OR SUPPLIER FOR CALIBRATION.
 (5)  Use the screws (4 locations) to attach the thermostat to the pneumatic duct.
 (a)  Do not tighten the screws at this time.

 (6)  
Apply a thin layer of the antiseize compound to the external threads of the sense line/450°F thermostat coupling.

 (7)  
Connect the sense line to the thermostat.


 (a)  Do not tighten the sense line at this time.

 (8)  
Tighten the screws (4 locations) which connect the thermostat to the pneumatic duct.

 (9)  
Tighten the sense line.


 E. Put the Airplane to Its Usual Condition
 S 864-020
 (1)  Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the switches that follow on the P5 panel:
 (a)  The BLEED 1

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close the BLEED AIR circuit breaker on the P6 Panel.

Do the test for the thermostat

 (a)  
Use the engine to pressurize the pneumatic system
 (AMM 36-05-00/201).


 (b)  
Make sure the duct pressure becomes stable at 42 | 5 psi.

 (c)  
Remove the pressure from the pneumatic system if it is not necessary (AMM 36-05-00/201).
