4. Special Fittings________________
A. Some of the fault isolation procedures require the use of MS-6, unions (special fittings). These special union fittings are typically not available commercially as a one-piece unit. However, they can be made into a one-piece unit with two standard fittings welded together.

B. The AN-4 (male) side of the standard fitting typically connects to the test hose. The MS-6 (female) side of the standard fitting typically connects to a pneumatic system component. The MS-6 (male) side of the standard fitting typically connects to a sense line which already has a MS-6 (female) fitting.
C. The MS-6, male-female union can be made into a one-piece unit with an AN-4 (male) standard fitting welded to a MS-6 (female) standard fitting.
D. The MS-6, male-male union can be made into a one-piece unit with an AN-4 (male) standard fitting welded to a MS-6 (male) standard fitting.
E. A set of three male-to-female union fittings and three male-to-male union fittings will form a complete set of special fittings that are needed to do the engine bleed air distribution system troubleshooting procedures.
5. Alternate Troubleshooting Procedures____________________________________
NOTE: An additional procedure for isolating a faulty component is
____ located at AMM 36-11-05/601. This procedure uses a portable valve actuating test set to isolate faulty components of the bleed air system.
A. The Engine Bleed Air Distribution System directs high temperature compressed air from the engine bleeds to the air conditioning system, the engine starting system, the thermal anti-icing system, the hydraulic system, and the potable water system. The system consists of pressure regulating and shutoff valves (PRSOV), high stage valves, bleed air regulators, high stage regulators, an isolation valve, check valves, temperature sensing switches and associated ducting.
