BLEED AIR REGULATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task removes the bleed air regulator. The second task installs the bleed air regulator.
B. The bleed air regulator is a pneumatic controller. It combines the control pressure with the electrically operated shutoff from a bleed air source to the pressure regulating and shutoff valve (PRSOV).
C. The bleed air regulator is mounted to the engine inner extension ring, below the high-stage regulator on the right side.

C. Prepare to Remove the Bleed Air Regulator

Make sure the applicable engine is not in operation.

Put the forward thrust lever in the fully rearward position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Put the start lever in the CUTOFF position and attach a
DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Remove the pressure from the pneumatic system (AMM 36-05-00/201).

Open the applicable circuit breaker for the bleed air control on the P6 panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

Attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag to the applicable BLEED switch.

WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE
_______ THRUST REVERSERS. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU OPEN THE THRUST REVERSERS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(9) Open the thrust reversers (AMM 78-31-00/201).
D. Remove the Bleed Air Regulator (Fig. 401)

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Disconnect the sense lines.

Loosen and remove the reducer(s) and the union(s) from the regulator ports.

(a) Discard the O-rings.

Loosen and remove the bolts and the washers (4 locations) which connect the regulator to the mounting pad of the extension ring.
